Save- A-Turtle Sends Kids to Camp
Save - A- Turtle is happy to announce that due to the Scholarship fundraiser that we ran in March. We have been able to secure 19 Keys kids going to summer camp this summer! Thank you to the Jensen Foundation in joining Save-A-Turtle in matching each dollar that was donated - but even more appreciation to all of our followers and supporters for making the donations. We could not have sent these kids to camp without your help! We partnered with Marine Labs out of Key Largo, Sea Camp out of Big Pine and Mote out of Summerland. These camps worked with local schools to help us identify those students who have a passion for Marine Biology and all ocean animals (Sea Turtles are always a plus). We are so excited for all those campers who were nominated by their teachers and school staff. This was a first for us and we loved it so much we added a spot on our website that you can donate for kids to go to summer camp all year long. We look forward to seeing how many kids we can send to camp next summer from donations. Thank you again

HATCH and RELEASE of RESCUED HATCHLINGS AUGUST 2020
Our volunteers recently rescued two hatchlings that were trapped in a nest. The extraordinary thing about this rescue is that a vacationer witnessed the hatch the night before and shared his video with Save-A-Turtle! Enjoy this video from nesting to emergence, excavation and release of rescues. |
